A lovely old building with traditional furnishings.
Shower and bath room facilities were as good as you might hope.
The food in the restaurant was fabulous - worth every penny
Message on answer machine when I got home suggesting we had left without paying! Quickly resolved
Wonderful friendliness and helpfulness from all of the staff.
We loved the wonderful setting and history attached to the hotel. The atmosphere was welcoming and very homely and the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed two wonderful meals which were beautifully presented. The whole experience is one that we would definitely like to repeat.
The only thing that we felt could have enhanced our comfort was the pillows on the bed which were uncomfortable and we felt had seen better days.
The staff were welcoming and helpul at all times.
When our room lock broke, it was left open all day. The management need to ensure that someone takes full responsibility in resolving such problems promptly.
Stylish with well-appointed bedrooms and a good menu.
The reception area is within the bar/restaurant so could be set apart from these.
The hotel is in a very convenient position to access the numerous places of interest in the vicinity. There's not only the city of Oxford and the beautiful towns and villages but also the spectacular countrysde all around. i liked the informal area to sit where one can read the paper and have a drink.
I found the room a bit on the small side
This is a lovely old coaching inn at the end of the drive of Waddestone manor. The manager is a really likeable young man. Beds are really comfortable
Our room was at the back of the hotel it was very hot and we had to have the windows open. Unfortunately for us there was a function on across the courtyard and the music and socialising were loud therefore preventing sleep until past midnight. As we are early to bed and early risers this did not really suit us.
the aunthentic enviorment, location on the street,
stair steps niose, few niose from the street after 11PM,
Very warm welcome on arrival, four poster bed, well presented breakfast
charm and character. Excellent food, good value for money.
With no air conditioning, summer requires bedroom windows open which creates noise from main road (A41).
The staff were very friendly and approachable. We were made to feel very welcome.
Didn't like the service charge being added automatically, and having to ask to have it removed. We like to give our appreciation tip personally.
easy access to Waddesdon Manor
we were accomodated in the stable block which was quiet other quests commented about road noise in the main hotel
Nice Hotel, well presented, staff was friendly and the room was clean and tidy with good facilites
Bed was a little soft
Very welcoming and professional team running a safe and comfortable Hotel/Restaurant in a beautiful building/setting.
